Press Release from CS STARS

STARS 12.3 Enhances Decision Making, Security, and Usability

Chicago, November 25th, 2013 - STARS, a business unit of Marsh and the leading provider of risk, safety, and claims management software, analytics and services, announces the availability of STARS 12.3, the newest version of its award-winning, integrated risk, safety, and claims management platform. The enhanced, cloud-based platform offers risk, safety, and claims professionals new decision-making capabilities, security, and usability features to more quickly and accurately identify risks that need to be addressed.

Among the new features of STARS 12.3 are:

  • An automated, rules-based system that enables managers to allocate costs associated with late reported claims, injuries, and detailed causes of loss to specific business units and locations.
  • Improved natural catastrophe visualization capabilities that allow clients to view events, like tornado touchdowns, earthquakes, wildfires, and flooding, in real time.
  • Improved security through two-factor authentication, ensuring access only to authorized users. Through an added layer of security, organizations are able to secure data with more than just a single username and password by sending a token to a pre-registered phone, via text or voice.
  • Numerous usability enhancements in response to client feedback including the addition of automated waiting periods, custom benefit types, and adjustments across multiple payment schedules to the indemnity benefits module. Clients also now have the ability to modify, approve/reject and escalate reserve worksheets at any time.

"With STARS 12.3, clients receive new tools to drive improved productivity, accountability and decision-making on a more secure and user-friendly cloud-based platform, giving them the ability to access our solution and their critical risk and claims information from any location at any time," said Paul Marushka, STARS' President and COO. "We will continue to invest in innovative technology and analytics across risk, safety and claims management to meet our clients' changing needs. This will further enhance our clients' decision-making capabilities and enable them to drive a richer and more meaningful conversation around risk."

STARS 12.3 is a single integrated risk, safety and claims management platform that provides clients with deep analytics and insight to inform and protect their businesses, all delivered through the cloud.v
