HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--From the Public Risk Management Association Annual Conference, P&C Insurance Systems, Inc.(PCIS), a proven and trusted provider of policy administration and claims solutions, today announced that the largest U.S. city, The City of New York (NYC), is implementing PCIS’ ClaimsVISION ® . The system will be utilized by the city’s Law Department to manage and oversee workers’ compensation claims for more than 200,000 NYC employees across 42 city departments.
NYC’s claims administration operation managed by the Law Department includes more than 100 users, and numerous interfaces with city departments as well as with third party vendors. In order to modernize the complex operation, NYC looks to move from the out-of-date legacy environment comprised of multiple systems and to automate its current manual processes required to handle the day-to-day claims.
ClaimsVISION was chosen to enable NYC to achieve its goals of enhancing intake and providing initial reporting at the departmental level, while also improving and bringing new levels of efficiency to compliance. NYC will leverage PCIS’ advanced No Touch FROI SROI EDI solution to fully automate reporting to New York State. NYC looks to reduce the time from occurrence of an employee incident to review of a case by 75%.
PCIS’ ClaimsVISION is being deployed via a Software as a Service (SaaS) model with the implementation project scope requiring the full migration of over 25 years of data, including over 450,000 claims and over 1 million documents
“There is a great deal of complexity when dealing with an operation the size of New York City with such a large number of employees and such an array of cases. We are excited that NYC has chosen PCIS and our ClaimsVISION solution and look forward to working with the Law Department to bring more efficiency to our amazing city,” noted Georgette Loizou, PCIS Executive Vice President.
