Larkspur, CA – September 9, 2013 – Systema Software, a leading provider of claims administration software and services to the insurance industry, today announced that the CSAC Excess Insurance Authority (EIA) has selected SIMS Claims™ to manage claims within its workers' compensation, liability, and medical malpractice insurance programs.
The CSAC EIA is a member-directed risk-sharing pool. The EIA provides cost-effective insurance and risk management solutions to help California public entities control insurance costs, losses, and exposures. The EIA's successful approach is renowned across the state and "Accredited with Excellence," since 1989 by the California Association of Joint Powers Authority (CAJPA). Membership includes 93% of counties, 60% of cities, as well as numerous school districts, special districts, housing authorities, fire districts, and other JPAs.
Jack Blyskal, CPCU, ARM, Chief Claims Officer at CSAC EIA, commented: "We had used the previous system for 10 years and decided to review the claims software market to look at technological advances that could better meet our needs now and into the future. We went through an extensive RFP process, which included our incumbent vendor, and found Systema Software and SIMS Claims best met our overall criteria. SIMS is highly flexible and can be tailored to meet our unique requirements. It offers a modern platform and robust reporting capabilities. In addition, Systema's team members really care about clients. The company has a reputation for providing good support and customer service."
Brian Mack, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Systema Software, commented on the innovative aspects of the agreement: "In recent years, California public entities have been severely impacted by the economy, facing significant budget cuts and demands to trim expenses. We worked with CSAC EIA to offer its members—both large and small organizations—a unique opportunity to license our advanced SIMS Claims system at the EIA's discounted rate. Members also gain peace of mind in knowing they benefit from EIA's comprehensive RFP process, which fully vetted SIMS to meet a high level of system and performance requirements."
Blyskal added: "With SIMS, we plan to integrate our TPAs and consolidate all insurance programs onto one platform, so we'll have claims data at our fingertips, rather than having to request and wait for information. Since we're involved in legislative issues, this will make it easier and faster to get the information we need to support our positions."
Jose Tribuzio, CEO of Systema Software, commented on the new customer: "We're thrilled to add the EIA to our client roster. It has served as a pioneer in the JPA risk management community, and we feel confident SIMS will aid and support in the EIA's mission to deploy innovative programs and utilize the latest workflow, automation and Web services capabilities to meet member needs, enhance collaboration and communication, and improve access and analysis of information to ultimately achieve better results."
