As with other components, the rating engine is completely data-driven and configured via the Dragon Designer toolset.
The crucial advantage of the Dragon rating engine is that it is completely data driven. This common data approach provides for synchronized deployments for rate, rule, form, and workflow modifications via the Dragon Version Manager.
The rating engine supports a variety of key features:
Multiple writing and rating companies
Single, multi-state and national filings
Version control, allowing for unlimited numbers of active rate books/filings
Benchmarking and overriding capabilities
All personal, commercial and specialty lines
Supports all premium calculations for annual, short term and extended term policies with no policy term limitations
Multi-tier rating and score-carding is supported through a combination of OneShield's rate engine and business rules editor
Rates can be updated individually or globally based on filings or as a bulk load
Ability to run untethered (black box) from the OneShield user interface
Covered premium calculations as well as taxes, surcharges, countersignature and other monetary, non-premium items can be accounted for
Future effective date filing definition, testing and deployment
