The past two years have shaken the historical assumptions underpinning insurance and business models. The "Great Recession" has exposed underlying issues within the P&C insurance industry which are contributing to a lack of underwriting profitability which has proliferated in the industry for over 25 years, accumulating a deficit of almost half a trillion dollars at the top as highlighted by the Insurance Information Institute (III).
This new normal requires a new path forward. A truly new path must employ a modern, functionally-rich policy management solution to enable four key business transformation areas:
1. Customer centricity, expectations and insight
2. Innovative and rapid product development
3. New distribution channels
4. Underwriting and service excellence

Nastel AutoPilot awarded worldwide contract for managing WebSphere MQ on Fortune 100 Bank’s Mainframes

Many of the world’s largest financial services firms use Nastel’s AutoPilot solution to provide diagnostics for application performance and remediate issues before they impact users

Melville, NY – July 19, 2011 – Nastel Technologies, a premier global provider of business transaction performance™ solutions for mission-critical applications spanning the distributed, mainframe and cloud tiers, has signed a large agreement with a Fortune 100 company that is also ranked among the top 100 banks globally. Through this deal, the bank will deploy Nastel AutoPilot® for WebSphere MQ on their mainframes in over 100 locations worldwide, replacing a previously deployed vendor solution.

Enterprises need to ensure their business-critical applications are performing in the manner in which they were designed. For the banking industry in particular, this means ensuring transactions are posting to trading partners and branches within the agreed upon timeframe. To certify this is happening, these organizations need diagnostic solutions that allow them not only to identify the actionable causes of underperforming applications, but also track transactions and messages, perform capacity planning, and manage and administrate messaging configurations all within the constraints of business policies. Analyzing situations and not just individual siloed events enables AutoPilot to proactively handle application issues before they hamper business productivity.

"When IT managers are spending time managing the management product, they are taken away from other jobs that need attention, which means productivity is impacted and stealth costs escalate," said Charley Rich, VP of Product Management at Nastel Technologies. "Our AutoPilot for WMQ provides enterprise IT professionals with 'set it and forget it' diagnostic, configuration and management capabilities so that business process costs are kept to a minimum and IT personnel are doing what they’re supposed to be doing – helping to grow the business."

Companies spend too much time and resources overseeing management solutions, which is why this customer chose Nastel AutoPilot. By using a system that proactively resolves application performance situations, their IT department can now focus on more important and strategic needs, needing only to pay the necessary attention to application performance when the solution has alerted them to an issue that is sure to cripple productivity.
